So, get this, Yalemzerf Yehualaw, all the way from Ethiopia, snags third place at the 2025 Boston Marathon. She finishes the elite women’s race with a time of 2:18:06, which is pretty darn impressive if you ask me.

Yalemzerf, she’s been struggling with injuries lately, but she still managed to lead the pack for 70% of the race. Talk about a major comeback, am I right?

Then you’ve got Sharon Lokedi from Kenya, who straight up demolished the course record by over two minutes. She crossed the finish line in 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 22 seconds, with Hellen Obiri right on her heels at 2:17:41.

These three ladies totally crushed the previous record set by Buzunesh Deba from Ethiopia back in 2014. She ran it in 2:19:59, but that’s old news now.

Oh, and in the men’s race, John Korir from Kenya made a bold move around the 20-mile mark and smoked the competition with a time of 2:04:45. Alphonce Felix Simbu from Tanzania came in second at 2:05:04. But hey, last year’s champ, Sisay Lemma from Ethiopia, he bailed out halfway through. Tough break, man.
